[Monthly Documentation Bulletin of the Private Secretariat of HRH Prince Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia]
October 1974; April 1980 to present (incomplete)

The Monthly Bulletin of the Private Secretariat of HRH Prince Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia was initially published in Peking, in 1970, in the aftermath of the coup d’état. Its publication was stopped after April 1975 and it reappeared again in 1981 after Prince Sihanouk had been released from house arrest in Cambodia. In 1993 it became the Monthly Bulletin of the Private Secretariat of His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia and after the late King’s abdication in October 2004, it was known as the Monthly Bulletin of the Private Secretariat of HM the King-Father Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia.

Following the passing of King Sihanouk in 2012, the Monthly Bulletin is published under the Cabinet of HM the Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk of Cambodia.

The Monthly Bulletin’s sections include official and private correspondence, historical documents, cartoons, Cambodian cuisine recipes and press clippings from the Cambodian, Thai and world press mostly on Cambodia or subjects related to Cambodia.

Bulletin Humour
Undated (late 2004 – 2005)

The Bulletin “Humour”, was published by the Cabinet of King Norodom Sihanouk. It began publication in late 2004 and ceased publication in 2005. The Collection at Monash University Library is almost a complete one.

[Editorial note: Most of the material, including annotations on newspapers clippings, was written by the King himself, except for the letters from an old school mate, Ruom Ritt, who lives in France. His letters were very critical of the Cambodian government’s policies and raised the ire of the current Prime Minister, who in his speeches to his compatriots often blasted Ruom Ritt for daring to criticise the government. After the government threatened to take legal action against Ruom Ritt, the bulletin ceased to be published.]
